Safeguarding
At The Bridge Project, the safety and well-being of every child, young person and vulnerable adult we support is our absolute priority. We strictly adhere to the UK Government’s statutory guidance, Keeping Children Safe in Education, ensuring all our school chaplains and volunteers undergo rigorous safer recruitment procedures, including enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Our chaplains and volunteers receive comprehensive, ongoing safeguarding training, enabling them to provide secure pastoral care, recognize signs of vulnerability, and work seamlessly with school Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) to maintain a safe, trusted environment for all children and young people.
The Bridge Project has its own Safeguarding Policy and Staff Code of Conduct which covers all its employees and volunteers. When chaplains and volunteers are school-based this policy works alongside and is subject to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure clear lines of responsibility and information sharing.
