13,000 feet for The Bridge: Our Netheravon skydive

On 4th July, 20 brave jumpers took on a 13,000 ft skydive at Netheravon in support of The Bridge Project. The morning started cloudy, and nerves were running high, but every single one of the 20 got their jump in. That shared nervousness quickly turned into something else, a real sense of people pulling together for the same cause. The event was organised by Louise Pearce, who brought the whole day together with joy and robust organisational skills!

Among the jumpers were individuals with direct, personal experience of our work, who took the leap to raise money for the support that had once supported them. They were  joined by four colleagues from Woolley & Wallis, who signed up after Holly Austin , who recently joined the firm encouraged them to get involved, and five from our business partners at Wilsons Solicitors, who support our chaplaincy work and jumped thanks to Carrie Clive organising their team. Kim and Tallie Ryalls from St Paul's Church jumped together and raised £1,000 between them, and Darren Hilton of Tapping The Source raised an incredible £1,100 on his own.

We were also proud to have Headteacher Charlotte Dyer and teacher Kate Dummett from Trinity CofE Primary, Devizes and Mr Ben Gunn, teacher from Wilton Primary CE School, take the jump, a brilliant reminder that this work is a partnership between schools, churches, businesses and individuals who all believe in the same thing. Thank you to everyone who jumped, fundraised, cheered from the ground, or backed a jumper you helped make this one of our best fundraising days yet, with an amazing £9.9k raised!
